Vegan colourways of the Emerica "Dickson" and "Quentin"

Updated 3 April 2023

Note that most colourways of this shoe (Emerica "Dickson") are made with leather (animal-source suede). But the "tan" colourway is made with vegan microfibre suede and canvas in the mid section (which is awesome).

Finally some good vegan Emerica skate shoes!

Note: The Dickson black white from mid-2021 is also vegan (canvas).

Emerica Quentin navy

Says the Emerica website (ALL CAPS): "CLEAN, DURABLE AND STRAIGHT TO THE POINT. THE QUENTIN OFFERS THE HIGHER QUALITY EMERICA IS KNOWN FOR WHILE KEEPING ONLY WHAT’S NECESSARY.
  • CUPSOLE CONSTRUCTION
  • TRIANGLE TREAD
  • PERORATED EVA INSOLE WITH ARCH SUPPORT
  • BLIND SEAMED TOE CAP FOR DURABILITY
  • PRINTED QUARTER LOGO
  • TONGUE STABILIZER WINGS
  • SYNTHETIC SUEDE
  • VEGAN"
This shoe is made with awesome, durable vegan microfibre suede (I'm assuming, like all the vegan suede Sole Tech companies are using). I wish all skate shoes that use suede would use this non-animal-source suede. Why not?

Emerica Quentin navy

(Blue suede shoes!)
Update (February 2023): I have these. The "navy" is very dark, almost black. They came with an Ed Templeton drawing "Thanks for not killing me Emerica - No problem" tag. This is quite a simple shoe, not too thick. Quite lightweight. It comes with classic paper-thin insoles, not the newer padded ones.
Update (April 2023): I've started skating these shoes now (without ever wearing them before for walking around). These are great "straight out the box", no breaking in needed. The soles are flexible and grippy. The upper seems durable, classic good quality vegan microfibre "suede". The "navy" colour is very dark but outside, in daylight, you can see that the colour is a really dark navy blue and not black, a truly beautiful shoe in every way. Sizing is true to size - as always with Sole Tech (in my experience). I have always had US size 10 in Emerica/etnies/éS (and also Vans), and I have these in size 10, and they fit perfectly. The insoles are really thin but have some arch support, which I like, and the arch support doesn't hurt. There is nothing about these shoes that hurts or that I could complain about. I can feel my board really well - which is the most important part. I'm already thinking that I will buy another pair of these.

Nerd info: There used to be a DVS shoe called "Quentin".
