Some new vegan éS skate shoes: Silo SC (white navy), Accel Slim Plus (white black), Accel Slim (navy red)

Skate shoe company éS has just come out with three new vegan colourways of the Silo SC, Accel Slim Plus, and Accel Slim, respectively. Thank you, éS! Just looking at the logo on the tongue of the Silo SC transports me straight back to the 1990s. Same (almost) goes for the way the soles of the Accel Slim look. Note that the Accel Slim Plus says "Microfiber" which may indicate better quality, compared to cheap polyurethane (cheap plastic) uppers, more like the type of durable vegan suede that is actually as durable as real animal-source suede, the type Etnies (or here) would use or the type Servant used to use - only here it doesn't seem to be vegan suede but rather vegan full-grain leather. I'm not sure, but microfibre suede may be more durable compared to microfibre full-grain leather. I think I will need to try these out. Silo SC first, for me.

I've ordered these from the éS website (éS Europe), and the delivery (from the Netherlands to Germany) was super fast (with UPS). I have very wide feet, and the shoes (as usual with éS, in my experience) fit true to size and are comfortable straight out of the box. Strangely the left shoe is feels a tiny bit tigher (but not a problem) - I think, my right foot (front foot) is wider actually. So, I would rather have expected this with the right shoe. I haven't skated these yet, and they almost look too pretty to skate (always the case with éS shoes really). Probably these will not be as durable (but more comfortable) than the Etnies "Marana Michelin" (vegan: tan gum from 2020; black charcoal from 2021). So, if durability (for skating, inclunding a lot of flip tricks) is your highest priority and you're willing to compromise a little bit on comfort (or you just have more "normal" feet than me), maybe try Etnies.

Update: It gets even better ... éS are really making a serious effort to promote vegan skate shoes. And they make this attempt quite knowingly careful, being sensitive to most skateboarders' sensitivity (and conservatism) when it comes to skate shoes. 25 gun salute to Orange County.
